After Lady Smiles was invited several times to produce some radio guest shows for the public listeners in Spain, Greece, Germany, Romania & USA, she started to run her first proper monthly music magazine on Radio Orange 94.0 FM / Vienna in May 2009. Her general German spoken show “Smiles Styles FOCUSED” featured plenty of interesting as humorous interviews with artists like e.g. Parov Stelar, Oliver Belz (Bahama Soul Club), Bebo Baldan (Bebo Best & The Super Lounge Orchestra) Louie Austen, Bella Wagner and Riccicomoto, as many album presentations and hot grooving DJ mixes - simple happy hours to enjoy her fresh music news! But for lack of time she decided relucting to bring her monthly radio hour to the “grand finale” on year-end 2011 and to keep her focus just on her bi-weekly UK Jazz Radio broadcast.
Radio Shows
Back in May 2010 she also became part of the UK Jazz Radio presenter team, to spread „loud n' proud“ her favourite jazzy sounds around the glob via this Internet radio station. Since than, her bi-weekly fresh show “Lady Smiles Swinging Nu-Jazz Xpress” is in station rotation, broadcast 4 times a week. She use to present the latest gorgeous releases from the Nu Jazz-, Bossa- and other swinging fields, but also she loves to browse deeply in her sound archive and to select everlasting Brazilian beauties, golden Big Band sounds or Italian film music from recent decades for her fine tuned listeners!
